I'm licensed now

to kill

they said so passing by;

not something I expected,

wanted,
needed.

Just like that window
it remains unbroken -

art not yet made by me
it sits patiently waiting.

Art that says Remember:

the assassination witness
passing by plate glass
fell and died throat slashed
blood running on the pavement.

Art that asks:

how did he cut his throat
upon a window passing by?

Or the other that same weekend,
wrote a note of suicide
and promptly had a stroke and died?

Art that says

Remember.

I'm neither window breaker -

killer;

all the same
I'm licensed now

to kill.

They said so

passing by.
